Mama's Prayer

by Barbara Stohler on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 11:54am
I love you, Lord. Your goodness never ends. Your faithfulness to you children, unmatchable. Your love, never ending. Arms that reach down and lift up my head. I know of your great devotion to your prodigals, for I am one. You saw me from afar, when I was wayward, you beckoned me home. You washed me and cleansed me and made me whole again. Mistakes, I have made and hit the brick wall, but YOU cause my footsteps in You to be sure, therefore I don't fall. The mud and the mire covered the goodness that You established in me...and I ventured far away, but, You never left me. You tugged on my heart, cleaved to my sleeve, whispered in my ear, foresaw what you see. You soothed the sickness in my soul, with hope that I could change. Until I saw the tree, I did not conceive, of the awesome sacrifice that you had made to bring me to my knees. Thank you for your faithfulness and your love never ending. Please Lord, talk to her now and give her ears to hear and remind her of that cleansing not too long ago. Remind her of your sacrifice, remind her of your peace, remind her of the love you shed, remind her of the Keys. Then, unlock the broken heart and cut away the grief, bring her back to your special place, close the door where it's just you and she. Let her feel your warm embrace, let her bow her head, take away the pride of life and replace it with humility. Then raise her up on your appointed day with zeal and love and knowing. For you are the one she's searching for, she just forgot to call.
