A Morning Prayer

Coffee...and to the front porch.
Man what a beautiful dreary day. Cloud cover, high humidity. Looks like it wants to rain...but doesn't.
A heavy mist upon my heart as I think on you, "Lord, are you gonna do a miracle?"
I know that you are watching me just as much as you are watching her...
Does she cry out to you at night
in the solitude of her prison, like me?
Does she think back on the goodness that you have bestowed upon her, her whole life?
I hope so. I'm reminded of your love and care for me throughout the years...
I pulled away from the safety of your grasp,
but you never let go, you came with me.
I know that I took you to some terrible places,
places that a Holy God should never be,
then you reminded me that if I made my bed in Hell
that you would be right there with me.
You are so awesome!
And, your love never ending...
I never knew what true friendship was,
until you became my friend
and took away all the loneliness.
I guess it stands to reason why the void could not be filled.
You, the master craftsman of the ages, made a place for you to dwell, right inside of me.
So today, as I sit here on my porch,
thinking of the blessings that you have bestowed upon me,
"Lord, are you gonna do a miracle?"
I look up at the sky, as the clouds go slowly rolling by....
my coffee is now cold.
But, my heart is overheating...
"Lord, please do a quick work."
Any movement from above, a whisper,
or a drop of grace from your great reserves,
a crumb from your table
or a broken heart, is appreciated.
Thank you for paying all my debts. I know that I will never be able to repay.
So, just live here in my heart for eternity...my kinsman redeemer.
No, it's not an error. I posted this on FB one year ago today. But, to the Father, it was but a moment ago in eternity! <3
