I learned how to say "no" to her requests for money a while back. And, since I am no longer an enabler or financial institution to make withdrawals from, I am no longer on her "let's keep in touch" list.
As a parent, we know all too well, that our "kids" do stupid things. We did stupid things ourselves as young people. But, once we reach the age of accountablity it is time to reevaluate our lives and look to see where we are going and who it is that we serve. My prayer for my daughter today is "Lord, only you can get through to her...just as you did to me. I pray for Your grace to be upon her, let her not harden her heart towards You today. Open her ears Lord, let her hear Your voice. Open her eyes Lord and let her see what You want her to see.. Circumcise her heart Lord and let her receive the love that you have for her. Instill in her remorse oh Lord and allow the world to break her down, so that You can lift her up. But most of all, let her see the love and forgiveness waiting for her at the cross. Time is short. I pray that you preserve her until the day of her salvation for Your own "good work". I know that our hearts are broken and only You can bring forth that resurrection life in any of us. Bring it forth in this "prodigal", also. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Thank you, Lord for collecting my tears. Thank you for the sacrifice that YOU made for me and ALL the other prodigals. I am eternally grateful for Your love and long suffering on MY behalf. Today Lord, I pray for more humility because I am dry. Today Lord I ask for hope because I am undone. Today Lord I request that YOU fill me up, because my hope has waned and my eyes are dim with sorrow. All I am asking for today Lord is MORE of You for me and for her. Thank you <3
Love Your Prodigal Daughter

Reading this 2 years after you posted this and 1 year to the day that my 18 year old left home. Oct, 11 - the day after her birthday, arrived home from work to her empty room. Heartbroken and constantly in prayer for her. Thank you for this prayer - it says everything I try to say, but so much more eloquently! I hope your prodigal has returned and will pray this for all the prodigal daughters out there.
